You may not be eligible for Unemployment Insurance if you:

  • Voluntarily quit your job
  • Were discharged for misconduct
  • Are on medical leave or have not been medically released to return to work

If any of the above pertains to you and you proceed with filing a claim, please note that additional documentation may be requested/required and additional processing time may also be required.

If you knowingly collect benefits based on false or inaccurate information that you intentionally provided when you filed your claim, you are committing fraud. UI fraud is punishable by law and violators could face a number of serious penalties and consequences.

Examples of UI fraud include:

  • Return to work but continues to collect UI benefits
  • Working a part-time or temporary job but does not report earnings to the state
  • Withholds information or gives false information to the state

Online Applications hours of availability:
  • Sunday 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Central Time
  • Monday - Friday 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Central Time
